A Safe Place To Sleep
Arkansas is the only state in the country that has no tenant protections, and the only state where you can be jailed for nonpayment of rent.
This 17-minute documentary I helped produce with Iron Lotus Creative shares the stories of the people impacted by these failures in their own words. A Safe Place to Sleep illustrates that Arkansas laws hinder children in particular, and it also offers a positive vision for the future, laying the groundwork for what is needed to make meaningful change.
Now is the time act. Contact our state legislators and tell them we want a warranty of habitability enshrined in Arkansas law.
Please share this documentary widely. And, if you like, you can use the still pictures with quotations below the documentary on this page. We are using the hashtags #ASafePlaceToSleep #ArkansasHousingCrisis #ALICEinAR
If you’d like to show it, go right ahead! And I’d love it if you’d drop me a note to let me know that you did.
The real lives impacted.
